We all (well, almost all of us!) have a superman or batman vintage tee hiding somewhere in our closet-and now is a good time as any to bring in some more old friends, and the perfect time to wear our trip down memory lane, to that place far far away (farther for some than others) where we were Veronica, Betty, Catwoman, Lois Lane-or that girl hoping Spiderman would  save her and Wolverine would carry her far far away! We've all been there - and now we can dress it too!
What do you guys think? Are you ready to wear your comic-book fix? - or should we lose the geek-factor already?

GUEST POST!!! - "The Unbout Reign Is No Illusion"

Sometime ago, we were approached by the Liberian, Atlanta-based Wil Harris sisters to feature a guest bost on their awesome blog, wilharris3 (one of our very favorite fashion blogs too!).  Believe us when we tell you: we were thrilled!

We wrote about the spectacular reign of THE most influential shoe in 2012 so far (which the Wil Harris sisters love too!): The Christian Louboutin "Unbout Illusion" Pumps, seen on everybody from here to everywhere else!
Blogging is some work, and nothing feels as good as having fellow bloggers (who we admirerecognize us and choose to showcase us too! So from us three at the Artsy Sisters: thanks for the opportunity, Wilneka, Wilmonia, and Wiletta Harris!

Check out our ode to the 'Bis Un Bout 120' here, and don't forget to show us some love by leaving comments and checking their awesome blog out too!

Tobi: DIY 'Circle The Dots' Maxi Dress

I haven't done any personal style posts lately - simply because there's been no one around to take my pictures! For Femi's birthday last weekend, I decided to take a cue from my very artsy sister (who designs practically everything she wears) and design something for myself!  Here's what I came up with: a mixed polka maxi dress with wrap-style top. I'm wearing the dress with a DIY Pearl Cluster necklace made by my other artsy sister, Dami.

Femi had two parties (yep, you heard right!)- one at an orphanage with a few select friends and family (and many deserving little kids) and another for her school mates and friends! Here we are at the orphanage...

What do you think of this dress? Did I do a good job-
or should I leave designing to the designers? :)
Holla back...

Fashion Forward: In love with Cape Dresses

We are in love with cape dresses this year! Cape dresses made a sweeping comeback on runways and red carpets in 2012, and boy, if they aren't majestic! Effortlessly chic and stylish, it's no surprise our desires have been successfully 'caped'!

Victoria Beckham/Princess Maxima of Netherlands/Lana Del Rey/Folake Kuye Huntoon(stylepantry)/Gwyneth Paltrow

How chic are cape dresses though? Long gone and perished are those days when capes were exclusive to villians (think Dracula), superheroes (think Batman) and hobbits(think Frodo)... right?
